My passion is to help children know the importance of eating the right foods that will help fuel their bodies as they grow and learn in the classroom and set them up for success in the future through a healthy relationship with food. I believe that all kids should have the accessibility of eating real nourishing foods. Education of what real food is and how it impacts our bodies is the first step.

Each month we host a healthy “in season” snack day with all the grades K-8th at Brookstones school and let them try the fruit or vegetable of that month and give them information on the “why” behind them eating it. We partner with Uptown Farmers market, who provides the in season produce for us each month. We also incorporate what the younger kids are learning about and growing in the garden of Brookstone. This is just one step, my hope is to allow this step to lead to bigger steps and one day have a school lunch program that serves real nourishing meals that will fuel these children to live to their fullest!

Testimonials

“Anne opened my eyes to so many important things on our recent grocery tour.”

“From produce to dairy to spices and all products in between, she showed me how to select foods that were healthy and would lead to less inflammation in my body. I couldn’t believe that there were so many healthy options in our local supermarket!”

- Marty I.

“When Anne came to do my pantry clean-out I thought I had a pretty good understanding of healthy foods and thought because I was buying organic, I was avoiding a lot of “bad” things.

“Anne taught me that just buying organic did not make my food choices healthy.”

I learned some great swaps that my children really seem to like and the pantry clean-out really motivated me to start being more aware of what I am putting in my body as well as my children’s.

“Anne is a wealth of knowledge!”

“It was truly a gift for her to come evaluate our pantry. She taught us how to read labels & look for all of those sneaky ingredients. She made the process so simple and educated us with solutions for when we grocery shop & meal plan.

If she suggested removing an item from the pantry or refrigerator then she always had the perfect solution for a replacement. In our time together Anne was a great listener, so calm and very non judgmental. She even told us it is ok to not be perfect and to enjoy some things now and again. She reminded us to give ourselves grace.

As a family of four we now feel confident in moving forward with all of our new ideas on how to fuel our bodies the healthy way!”

- Lindsay B.

“What can I say other than wow!

“Anne is so knowledgeable, efficient, and non-judgmental—she has definitely found her calling! I feel so much lighter with our pantry and fridge full of only good-for-you foods and my new knowledge of easy ways to help our family eat healthier.

Also, I am grateful for all the simple but delicious recipes. We’ve already tried the healthy pancakes and Mac and cheese, and the kids love them! I can’t wait to go on the grocery store tour with her next! Thank you so much again!”
